We're back! Disability reports are finished so its back to our reflections. Here's your assignment.
Watch the video, you can stop watching at 2:35. After that it talks about a clinic that offers services. I want you to watch the video and listen to the signs and symptoms they offer. Think about the kids in our class with autism and if any of them fit what is being described.
The only question you need to answer with a comment below is
1- Name 3 signs or symptoms of a behavior a child may demonstrate, indicating they may have autism.
This is due Friday, January 15. Remember, no last names in your comment!

I thought it was interesting that kids with autism are not socially responsive. They do not look people in the eye and do not react well with other kids. They don't respond to their name and they develop later than other kids. They take a while to learn to sit up and their speech is sometimes delayed. I thought it was interesting that half of the kids with autism gain skills and then loose them later on in their life. Kids with autism also repeat words said to them and do not comprehend what is said most of the time...well in early years that is.
ReplyDeleteI think it is cool that people can now diagnose autism earlier, but it is also sad because even an early diagnosis takes several months to tell.
