- I'm starting my 4th year as an adapted PE teacher for Round Rock ISD. I also coach Special Olympics with the Round Rock team. We love being active, playing sports, and jamming on Guitar Hero!
I think the video shared an important lesson about friendship. Only a true friend would carry another friend for a whole season to their wrestleing games. It sounds like the person who was being carried was't that light. It must have been a struggle to carry him. The boy who carried him was legeally blind too. It was inspiring how he didn't showit. His coach even said he didn't ask for anything special or needed any help because of his disability.

ReplyDeleteThis video was very sad. I was touched at how Dartanion (I think that's how you spell it) carried Leroy in the buses and at the matches, even when he is legally blind. Both had been through hardships, but still care for each other. When Leroy explains the train accident that made him loose his legs, it really shows how much he had to grow up. Part of the video (like he and his friends in the bus) make you realize he is really only a kid!!! The problem is, Leroy lives in a house with absolutely no ramps. That makes it hard for him to get in and out of his own house. Dartainon is poor and lives in a rundown house. He has to scavenge for food and has had to move a lot the last couple of years. It really hurts to know these nice people have to live that way! Neither of them have given up yet. It was a emeotional movie!!!

ReplyDeletei think this is amazing how these two boys meet and how they can work together! i feel sorry fo the one guy that got run over by the train! it is very sad to hear about that sort of thing happen. i also feel sorry for the guy that is blind!i cant imagine not being able to see!
i love how they work together! i think together they make each other stronger!
That video is so sad! I almost cried! But it shows courage and strength between the two kids. I cant believe the bravery that he had to go out and wrestle in front of the world while having a disability like that! And to be carried by your best friend to from every single game. THat is jsut amazing. I was left speechless.

ReplyDeletei thought this video was amazing. both of those men both had challenges and most of the time they just let those challenges pass them. they were like brothers,they went through everything together. both had goals and one of the men even completed one of his goals. to walk across the stage at graduation. this was a very touching story to me.
The video was an insperation that you can do anything you set your mined to.Thats exactly what they did they over came challenges, with a friend at their side.

ReplyDeleteI really liked this video. I really liked at the end that he said that there is nothing that this man right next to me cannot do.
I thought that it was really inspiring. It was also really sad about the accident and also a miracle to be able to live after being hit b a train. I can understand that, that would be very depressing to know that you didnt have your legs. But he was able to keep moving forward and be a part of the wrestling team. He was very strong I thought and he was able to make it that far.
I think that the trimuth that they go thour every day is AMAZING! MADISON I

ReplyDeleteI Think this is a really cool thing because both guys have some disabilities but they have eachother and that really speaks to you about having a friend and how important having a friend is.

ReplyDeleteI Thought that even though both of them have disabilities that when they are together they work as a team and nothing gets past them. thats how important having a friend is.
Wow! I thought this was one of the best reflections i ever seen. I relly like this and i will watch it at home from time to time. I liked how he doent like pitty and doesnt want anyone feeling sad for him. I am kinda the same way. This is a true friendship. It touched my heart.

ReplyDeleteThis was a very sad video.I was shocked when I watched Leroy talk about losing his legs to a train.I also thought that Dartanion was an amazing friend for carrying his best friend everywhere.It was sad that they were so poor and didn't have ramps to get inside houses.I was really glad that Leroy got legs to walk on for his graduation.
