  4. i learned about SOTX because i wanted to mainly focus on just that because when time comes i would like to volunteer for it so i had to get to know the program a little bit. while i was reading about SOTX i learned a few things frist when eunice kennedy had started a summer camp for children and adults with intellectual disabilities five years after starting the summer camp she found her dream at the first International Special Olympics Summer Games.later she then started a non profit organization called SOTX.i also learned that SOTX has 21 sports and deals with both children and adults.

  6. I learned alot about US Paralympics! At first, I did'nt know what it was, but I learned that they help people with disabilitys to acheive their goals. They want to make it easier to get disabled peopl into sports. They are like a special olympics only a little bigger, by the lookes of it.An interesting fact I learned is that there is over 21 million people with disabilitys!!!!!!!!!!That is alot!

  8. I researched the us paralynmpics. When I had first heard of the paralympics I thought it was just a way for people in wheelchairs to get awards but when I researched this I found that it is really a rehab center for war veterans to get there life back.I thought it would be easy games but they play the same sports as in the regular olympics.I am glad to say that one day I would like to help with that.I was completely wrong on my assumptions and I hope to learn more on the interesting topic...

  9. I learned that in the SOTX, (Special Olympics Texas) they actually train year-round. Before I read about the SOTX, I thought they just either went and performed at thier best or they trained for a week or two. I also found out that the founder of the SOTX recently passed away on August 11, 2009. I am hoping that I will be able to volunteer at a Special Olympics soon because it sounds like a lot of fun!

  10. I found alot about the SOTX. I think it's great that Eunice Kennedy Shriver (who died on August 11, 2009:( . ) came up with the idea.
i think it's cool how the SOTX provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with disabilities.

I also found alot about the TxP2P. i learned about how it improves the lives of children with disabilities by increasing the confidence and emotional stability of families by providing peer support.

I hope to maybe do something like that when i get older:)
